Little Seeds for a Better Future

MISSION

• We provide children with opportunities for free play in nature, within a framework of respect for themselves, others, and the environment.

• We provide training for adults supporting children’s free play in nature.
   

WE BELIEVE

• Children need time and space to follow their own interests through play,

• Play is the ideal pathway to meaningful and authentic learning,

• No learning happens in isolation: Children learn holistically, through engagement of their emotional, social, physical, spiritual, and intellectual capacities, in connection with the natural world,

• Children learn best in mixed-aged, democratic groups where their voice is heard and they have a say in how the group functions,

• Children need the opportunity to take risks and set their own challenges in order to become confident, capable adults

• Awareness of, and respect for te ao Māori, is the responsibility of all those living in Aotearoa, and

• Learning about the natural world is essential for children’s well-being and for ensuring a sustainable future for humanity.
